Amy Morrison

Amy operates at the intersection of live music and sustainability, fusing her longtime expertise in the touring industry with her sustainability passion and background. At MSA, she leads a team of event and sustainability professionals, along with a growing community of music industry professionals, to move the industry toward more sustainable outcomes.

Amy has been a trailblazer in the live music world for more than three decades, including as SVP of Marketing for Concerts West/AEG Presents, where she worked with the Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Prince and others. According to renowned music journalist Larry LeBlanc, “Her touch is legendary, and she has unquestionably changed the way music events and tours are being now marketed.”

In 2021, to reinforce her commitment to climate action, Amy achieved a sustainability certificate from Presidio Graduate School.


Mike Martin
Co-founder & Board Member

Since 1990, Michael Martin, has introduced and led sustainability in the music industry with Billboard naming him the "Live Event Greening Guru”. Michael is a pioneering entrepreneur, and the CEO of Effect Partners and r.Cup. At Effect Partners, he works with the world’s leading artists and brands driving sustainability impact and catalyzing movements like Earth Day, climate change, green energy, and eco-friendly food.

As the force behind r.Cup, he leads the reuse movement in North America with support from artists, concessionaires, the White House, NGOs, industry giants AEG, ASM, NIVA, and others. Michael also serves on the Boards of MIT's Environmental Solutions Initiative, MSA, and Peoples Organic Cafe.


Eleanor Anderson
Project Advisor & Board Member

Eleanor Anderson’s background is in corporate and academic research. She attended UChicago, where she received degrees in Economics and Psychology and studied Behavioral Economics. Her research centered on people analytics, risk aversion, and libertarian paternalism, aimed at understanding human behavior and driving change.

Eleanor's passion lies in applying her expertise in behavioral economics to promote sustainability among the public. That’s why she’s enthusiastic about working in the music industry, where she is able to leverage the influence musicians have in shaping culture.


Kurt Langer
VP & Board Member

With almost 30 years in the entertainment industry, Kurt has collaborated with many of the biggest artists in the world. In addition to sitting on the Board of MSA, Kurt is also on the US Board of Trustees of EARTH/PERCENT, a music industry climate fund launched by Brian Eno.

He now leads the consulting firm The Impact Department which advises artists and brands on audience engagement, sustainability and climate focused special projects. Most recently Kurt has worked with Support+Feed to produce Billie Eilish’s OVERHEATED climate events.


Joel Makower
Strategy Director & Industry Council Chair

In addition to his role at MSA, Joel is chairman and co-founder of GreenBiz Group, a media and events company focusing at the intersection of business, technology and sustainability. For more than 30 years, through his writing, speaking and leadership, he has helped companies align environmental and social issues with business success.

A former nationally syndicated columnist, Joel is author or co-author of more than a dozen books, including The New Grand Strategy, about a business plan for America, born at the Pentagon, that embeds sustainability as a national strategic imperative. Previous books include Strategies for the Green Economy, Beyond the Bottom Line: Putting Social Responsibility to Work for Your Business and the World, The E-Factor: The Bottom-Line Approach to Environmentally Responsible Business, and The Green Consumer.

Joel is also the author of an oral history of the Woodstock festival of 1969, which “Rolling Stone” called “the definitive story of the mega-event.” The interviews he conducted now live in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

In 2012, he was awarded the Hutchens Medal by the American Society for Quality, which cited “his ability to tell compelling stories that both inform and inspire business leaders toward profitable action.” In 2014, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals.

Joel has been a commentator on environmental topics for public radio's "Marketplace" and appears frequently in both broadcast and print media. He serves as a board member or adviser to both for-profit and nonprofit organizations and speaks regularly to companies, industry groups and business schools around the world.

The Associated Press has called him “The guru of green business practices.”


David Koenig
Program Director

David Koenig is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur with a proven track record of launching successful technology startups, forging global partnerships, and spearheading the release of groundbreaking products. With over two decades of experience in executive and technology leadership roles, David has consistently driven innovation, revenue growth, product development, and operational excellence.

As a visionary leader, David has introduced products that have not only pioneered new markets but also set industry standards across various sectors. Highly respected in both the technology and media fields, he has leveraged his expertise and business acumen to raise millions in capital, funding companies that deliver cutting-edge solutions, introduce innovative methodologies, and create opportunities for talented professionals. David is committed to fostering a corporate culture that emphasizes excellence, best practices, collaboration, and unwavering integrity.

In addition to his substantial business experience, David holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs, a second Master’s degree, and a Doctorate in History (ABD), all from Columbia University. He brings expertise in computer graphics, game development, product management, manufacturing, and supply chain management, and holds multiple patents. His products have been recognized with numerous industry accolades, including an Emmy Award.


Annie Rothschild Farman
Communications Director

Annie Rothschild Farman has worked at the nexus of entertainment and sustainability for over 20 years. She has spearheaded numerous environmental initiatives within music, collaborating with artists, venues, and festivals such as Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, as well as on set in film and television.

Annie has written and produced content for actors like Jeff Bridges and Nick Thune, and consulted with businesses to advance and communicate their sustainability strategies. She co-founded CodeRed Climate, a campaign that rallied over 130 artists and public figures to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest piece of climate legislation in U.S. history. Annie also played a key role in passing the Single Use Foodware and Litter Reduction Ordinance, which kept hundreds of tons of plastic waste out of storm drains and landfills.

In her free time, Annie enjoys playing bass. She resides in Berkeley, CA.


Trent Wolbe
Summit Creative Advisor

Rooted in creative storytelling, now leveraging societal currents to find a better future. Trent used to run sustainability for global events at Google, write about culture at The Verge, and DJ at WFMU. As co-founder at Climate Hang, he operates off-grid rentals and builds events around climate and psychedelics. He’s the co-chair of the Green Homes Committee at USGBC-CA, and primarily, these days, he runs marketing at Harvest, which is hellbent on decarbonizing homes at scale.

Basically, DJ Concerned Father.
